Congratulations on your 9...Thank you OneGreenMama. Congratulations on your 9th year of marriage.

Weasel, We did have to get permission to put up a tent but I think they do it often so it wasn't a big deal. The lady in the head office is very kind and flexible with allowing you to make your wedding the way you want it. We are actually getting two 20x40 tents. The guests will sit under the pavilion and one tent. The buffet, two bars and a soda and juice bar will be under the other tent. Our guest list has grown a bit lately so if we have to sit people under each of the tents we'll do it. I'm not concerned because if we're lucky enough to have a beautiful day then space with be endless. If we get rain, we'll have the two tents plus the pavillion. There will plenty of room for us to still dance and have fun and have a good time. My advice is to find a good caterer who has worked events at the gardens in the past and who has had to accommodate 200 guests. I find that caterers are pretty good at what they do and knowing how to make everything work. Good luck!Bethhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06321664935075873919noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7761629412711979562.post-32718619136236247652008-07-31T00:13:00.000-04:002008-07-31T00:13:00.000-04:002008-07-31T00:13:00.000-04:00I just came across your blog and saw these picture...I just came across your blog and saw these pictures. My husband and I got married there 9 years ago July 17, 1999. We loved it and it was beautiful. We had a heat wave that year and it was over 105 degrees that day. I hope for you the weather will be beautiful and grass green and the flowers blooming. Oh yeah...we also rented an extended tent to add to the pavilion. That worked out great also. Best of luck with the marriage.onegreenmamahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/10321505662425183056noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7761629412711979562.post-47161875151224883612008-07-24T11:54:00.000-04:002008-07-24T11:54:00.000-04:002008-07-24T11:54:00.000-04:00Beth,My fiance and I are also looking at the cabin...Beth,

My fiance and I are also looking at the cabin/pavilion for our wedding reception. Did you have to get special permission to put up a tent (the brochure said something about this). How big of a tent are you getting and how many people are you trying to seat? I ask because our guest list is nearer to 200 than 150 and we're trying to imagine some way to still make the RU Gardens work. We met as undergrads on Cook/Douglas and would love to be able to celebrate our wedding some place so beautiful and appropriate.Weaselhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/03001532479262004565noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7761629412711979562.post-4946855138318344192008-06-20T20:50:00.000-04:002008-06-20T20:50:00.000-04:002008-06-20T20:50:00.000-04:00That looks like a great place for someone to get m...That looks like a great place for someone to get married!Patrick Belardohttp://www.blogger.com/profile/09080082715363887351noreply@blogger.com
